Claymore Investment Managers have been granted planning permission for a new development of industrial and business premises on a site currently known as ‘The Knoll’ in Daventry. The decision was given in December 2019. The finer details are still being finalised but all parties are hopeful that work will start in early 2020 with units anticipated to be ready from Q1/Q2 2021.
Claymore are based locally at Caswell Science & Technology Park, and whilst they have assets across the UK, have always had a particular interest in supporting opportunities in and around the Northamptonshire and South East Midlands region.
Daventry, and Northamptonshire as a wider area, has been desperate for new development of smaller to medium sized industrial/warehouse premises and Claymore’s development will meet this demand. A total of 56,510 sq ft will be developed across 15 units, with units available from 2,200 sq ft upwards. The new scheme has been designed with flexibility in mind, meaning occupiers can take individual, or multiple units in combination, to meet their specific needs.
The new scheme will be branded as ‘Signal Park’ which embraces Daventry’s history with radio transmission. The phrase ‘Daventry Calling’ was of course well known across the world with the BBC World Service. The new scheme has been supported and partly funded by SEMLEP and HMG’s Local Growth Fund. SEMLEP is the Local Enterprise Partnership that support economic growth across the South East Midlands, helping to build prosperous communities and promote job creation.
Drake Commercial, who have a strong history and background in Daventry and the wider region have been advising Claymore and are instructed on the new scheme. Further information will be released early this year but if you have any questions, or would like to register your early interest, please contact Tom Drake at Drake Commercial on 01604 620616.
