In March 2014 the UK’s 39 Local Enterprise Partnerships (LEPs) submitted their individual strategic economic plans to Government.
Northamptonshire Enterprise Partnership have put forward their most ambitious economic plan to date with the intention of further reinforcing Northampton’s place at the forefront of the UK’s economic recovery. The NEP’s strategy will target growth at 1% higher than the national average increasing the local economy from £16 billion to £20 billion by 2021.
According to information released by NEP there are plans to build 37,000 new homes and stimulate a £4 billion boost in the local economy creating over 32,000 new jobs for local people by 2021.
In March 2014 Northampton was named the best town for business in the UK by Experian and NEP are continuing to offer a wide range of support and initiatives to help local businesses to develop in sectors including High Performance Technologies, Logistics, Food & Drink, Financial Services and Creative Industries.
